Formed in the year 2014 and registered with the District Registrar, Thrissur (Kerala) under the 12th Travancore - Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 has the following objectives:-
To work for the prosperity and welfare of the entire humanity by propagating the messages and teachings of Jagatpurush Sree Narayana Guru and by encouraging the people to practice them and to establish and run institutions for said purposes.
To establish a model society by spreading the spirit of equality and brotherhood among members in line with the message of Sree Narayana Guru. i.e., “Here is a model abode where humans live like brothers bereft of prejudice of caste or the rancor of religious difference” given after consecrating a temple at Aruvippuram near Neyyartinkara in Kerala in the year 1888 for the untouchables and underprivileged classes of the society who were discriminated against on caste status and denied social freedom and rights for centuries.
To work for the promotion of spiritual, cultural, and social awareness among the members and to undertake activities for the welfare of their social and material life.
To spread the messages against the consumption of alcohol and use of drugs and encourage donation of blood, eye and organ and conduct discussions and awareness programmes for the said purpose.
To conduct commemorative functions in the name of those who have made significant contributions for propagating the teachings of Jagatpurush Sree Narayana Guru and for setting up institutions for the said purpose.
To establish library and reading rooms which provide among other books publications of Sree Narayana Guru’s works and books and commentaries on Guru’s ideals and messages.
To felicitate the esteemed personalities from the field of art, culture, sports and social development.
To work for realization of the objectives by affiliating itself with organizaitons/confederations having similar objectives.
Membership of the Prachara Vedi is open to all irrespective of caste, creed, color and religion. Members are enrolled in the organization with a selective approach so that only interested and genuine persons are becoming members of Prachara Vedi. We at the moment have the members from different religion and castes. The activity of the Prachara Vedi extends to the whole of Indian Union.
Management of the Prachara Vedi is headed by a Committee consisting of 4 Office bearers and 7 committee members. We unfailingly conduct monthly classes on the ideals and message of Sree Narayana Guru where eminent scholars present speeches and reply to queries of the participants. Our registered and administrative office is in the Chalakudy town at Door No. 457, Ward No. XIX, Palace Road, Chalakudy. We tour and conduct classes on guru’s ideals in the adjoining villages for the benefit of the people who are unable to attend classes conduction in the town. We have at the moment around 100 members and in a slow pace we induct numbers after proper scrutiny and interest of the persons seeking membership.
